Assessment

All Assessments are created from Central Michigan University and the Board approved curriculum that is used with fidelity across the district.  Old Redford Academy uses approved pacing charts to determine when formative and summative assessments will be given.  At the elementary school, common assessments are given and discussed during Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings.  The Middle and High School PLC meetings occur within subjects (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Specials).

NWEA MAP

The NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment is an adaptive, untimed online test designed to measure student growth and performance in reading and math for grades K-8, as well as college and career readiness for older students. Administered three times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring) during regular school hours, it adjusts question difficulty based on student responses.

The results are used to screen performance, monitor progress, measure growth, project proficiency, assess skills mastery, and provide teachers with tools for targeted interventions.
