Dear ORA Community,

I am so excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Old Redford Academy.  It is truly an honor and a privilege for me to open this year as your Superintendent.  My focus for this year is to create a safe and secure learning environment that promotes academic proficiency and cultivates healthy social and emotional skills.  And by working together, this goal is not only achievable but, more importantly, it is what our scholars deserve.    

This summer we worked tirelessly to develop and enhance a variety of District initiatives that will help facilitate this collaborative process.  We were able to complete numerous improvements to our buildings’ infrastructure, add new student and teacher technology including interactive white boards, increase extracurricular programing, and expand curriculum offerings including dual enrollment and CTE.  Likewise, we have also updated our District policies pertaining to the priority areas of attendance, academic intervention, behavior infractions, and building culture norms.  

It is my sincere belief that through a focus on academic proficiency, healthy social and emotional skills, building improvements, new technology, increased programing, and updated policies, we will reinforce a culture of achievement while ushering in a renewed sense of pride for our Academy and its values.

As we begin this new school year, please rest assured that I remain committed to doing what is in the best interest of our scholars.  With that being said, I humbly ask for you to join the movement.  It’s a new day at ORA!
